Inflight WiFi Streaming

Virgin Australia is considering adding WiFi media streaming to its list of inflight services along with internet access. WiFi media streaming is a cutting edge technology in inflight entertainment which will allow passenger to connect to airline supplied content including TV hows, music and movies via their own tablets, laptops and smartphones.
The programming would be broadcast wirelessly through the airplane, but the details are still under wraps as the system is in the development stage. The airline will likely introduce the service first on domestic flights with possible extension to international routes to follow. The airline is introducing new Boeing 737 planes which are enabled for satellite communication to provide more connectivity options in the future. Inflight WiFi internet service would go a long way to helping Virgin capture market share from Qantas.
