Many thanks to Torsten for this one: WiMAX chipmaker TeleCIS Wireless announced today that it had secured $10 million in VC and strategic funding, bringing the company's total funding to $18.7 million. It's an extremely nice boost for the company to receive just prior to the release of its first chip.
The TeleCIS press release says the funding round was led by ATA Ventures, along with "an undisclosed strategic corporate investor
." Telcotrash thinks that undisclosed investor may well be a handset manufacturer like Motorola, considering the chips' viability for mobile devices.Permalink: $10 Million in VC Funding for WiMAX Chipmaker
