Agito Networks this week announced the upcoming launch of its RoamAnywhere Mobility Router, which uses RF-based, location-aware tech to ensure that in-building calls are switched efficiently from cellular networks to Wi-Fi.
The company says the solution can decrease corporate cell phone bills by up to 60 percent, while improving coverage in cellular dead spots and improving battery life by automatically switching devices' Wi-Fi radios off when not in use.
"Initial client support will be for smart phones based on Windows Mobile or Nokia Corp.'s Symbian operating system," reports Computerworld's John Dix. "Subsequent releases will add support for Research In Motion Ltd.'s BlackBerry devices."
