Another Social iPhone App Arrives

While we like to think most smartphone users are checking their business email and following the stock market, studies prove time and time again that there's a whole lot of socializing going on. After all, who hasn't heard of Facebook, Myspace or Twitter?
To that end Brightkite has released a fresh app for iPhone and iPod Touch called Group Text. It is a free chat service, and while this probably isn't that big of a deal to iPhone users, it does essentially turn the iPod Touch into a cell phone.
And while chat services are nothing new, Group Text works on the dynamic of the "reply all" option of your email service- in that it is designed to simplify group communication in particular. Plus it works via phones and computers.
Maybe even cooler is the fact that buddies don't even have to download the app to receive and send messages!
