Apple Offers a Fix for iPad Wi-Fi Problems

Apple has begun suggesting some possible fixes for the Wi-Fi problems that have been driving iPad users nuts over the past week.
"Apple posted a Knowledge Base article pertaining to these issues," notes PC Mag's Samara Lynn. "Not only does the article make suggestions for a remedy, it gives legitimacy to the fact that Apple considers this a very real issue."
"Apple said this week's connection problems can happen with third-party Wi-Fi routers that are dual-band capable if more than one network has the same name or someone had different security settings for the different networks," writes CNN's Doug Gross.
"To fix the issue, Apple suggests creating separate Wi-Fi network names for each band — name 802.11 b/g Fred, for example, and 802.11n Tom," writes eWeek's Michelle Maisto. "Also, Apple says to make sure that both networks are using the same type of network security."
"If all else fails, Apple recommends resetting network settings in the iPad's Settings app (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings)," writes Wired's Brian X. Chen.
