ASUS Intros P552w Smartphone with Wi-Fi, GPS and HSDPA
Filed in archive Wi-Fi on September 9, 2008

ASUS has announced a new entry in the smartphone market with the ASUS P552w touchscreen phone, which includes Wi-Fi, GPS and HSDPA connectivity.
"The last we heard from ASUS regarding its line of PDA-phones was the cancellation of a whole bunch of products, including the Lamborghini-branded ZX1," writes Crave's John Chan. "The company told us at the time that it doesn't plan to exit this business and will announce something in September. Well, here it is, the P552w, complete with ASUS' new user interface (UI) called Glide."
"With Glide, a user can perform navigational functions like zooming, selecting, and scrolling with flicks of the finger," writes InformationWeek's Marin Perez. "The interface can also be used with integrated applications for functions like reading news, viewing slideshows, and checking the weather."
"The images release by ASUS show the phone in two colors - white and black," according to TechShout. "The pricing and the availability details of the ASUS P552w are yet to be released."
