AT&T announced today that Stan Sigman, CEO of AT&T Mobility and the guy responsible for nabbing the iPhone contract, has retired after 42 years - yes, that's 42 years - with the company. His replacement is Ralph de la Vega.
"Sigman is best known in recent years for heading the mobile division during the transition from Cingular to AT&T Mobility and for overseeing the introduction of the iPhone, which is widely regarded as the most significant phone launch in the company's history," notes Electronista.
"Stan is one of the industry's most outstanding and accomplished leaders," says AT&T CEO Randall
Stephenson. "Our customers, our employees and our stockholders have benefited tremendously from his unsurpassed vision, expertise and tireless commitment to growing the business."
