Filed in archive Mobile by jeff goldman on June 12, 2008

Bank of America this week announced that it had surpassed one million unique and active Mobile Banking customers.

Almost all users are accessing the service to check balances, while eight in ten use it view recent transactions, and four in ten use their phones to transfer funds or pay bills. Two thirds of users are under 35 years old.

Top markets for mobile banking, according to the company, include the following:

1. Los Angeles, CA

2. Atlanta, GA

3. Washington DC

4. Dallas, TX

5. New York, NY

6. Houston, TX

7. Phoenix, AZ

8. Boston, MA

9. Miami, FL

10. Anaheim, CA

"This should be a lesson to all the other major banks," writes BerryReview's Ronen Halevy. "Your customers want mobile access to their account information!"
