InfoWorld's Paul Roberts reports that, after canceling a planned presentation at the Black Hat DC Briefings & Training event in Arlington, Virginia, Chris Paget of IOActive took the stage after all to give an abridged version of his talk with ACLU attorney Nicole Ozer at his side.
Roberts
writes that Paget was "very careful not to picture technology nor mention products from 'a certain vendor' or 'a certain three letter acronym,'" i.e. HID Global.
CNET's Joris Evers adds that Paget "displayed quotes from its correspondence with HID Global to show that the company was indeed threatened. HID Global on Tuesday issued a statement to the media stating that it had done no such thing and that it was surprised that IOActive had pulled its talk."
