Bluesocket Buys Pingtel

Dean at VoIP User picks up on today's announcement that WLAN
company Bluesocket is buying VoIP company Pingtel, with the aim of cornering the market on enterprise fixed-mobile convergence.
"This is a big play for the enterprise convergence space (Wi-Fi/cellular handoff) and I wish them luck with that," Dean writes. "It's also good news for the open-source community, as Bluesocket have pledged to 're-seed' the sipX/sipFoundry project with some cash and resources."
TMCnet's Rich Tehrani adds, "The combination of a PBX and Wi-Fi company makes a great deal of sense. This can be a very good solution for companies looking to a single vendor for true mobility and communications product depth."
