Boingo Hits Korea

WirelessIQ reports today that Boingo has announced a roaming agreement with South koreanlinks provider KT, which will result in the addition of 14,000 hotspots to Boingo's global Wi-Fi network. The agreement marks Boingo's entry into the South Korean market, and increases its worldwide hotspot total to more than 45,000 locations.

"The prevalence of Wi-Fi throughout Korea makes it very convenient to be productive when traveling here, and that is thanks to KT's commitment to deploying a high-performance, secure network," says Allen Pan, Boingo's Director of Network Strategy for Asia-Pacific. "Adding the KT network to Boingo's Wi-Fi service makes life much easier for the Boingo customer traveling in Korea."

"Our strategy is to make this network as widely available as possible, with strong commitments to roaming and to working with industry leaders like Boingo," says KT's HyunTae Jang.
