Boingo Intros Hourly Wi-Fi Access for $1.99

Boingo has introduced a new iPod touch, iPhone and iPad app that allows users to access a $1.99-per-hour plan for Wi-Fi Internet access.
"iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch users can now purchase $1.99 Wi-Fi Credits right in the iTunes store that can then be redeemed for 60 consecutive minutes of access at a single Boingo hotspot," writes ZDNet's Matthew Miller. "You can buy multiple credits in advance and if you buy blocks of ten you get one block for free."
"Boingo has monthly subscriptions that allow unlimited access, but this new program allows those who only need access occasionally to grab it in one-hour chunks on the go," writes jkOnTheRun's James Kendrick.
"Customers can use the Wi-Fi at any of Boingo's 30,000 U.S. locations or 125,000 worldwide hotspots, although the software is only available in the U.S. for now," writes GigaOM's Kevin C. Tofel.
"Boingo is considering opening the service to other devices and laptops, but for now it only works on iPhones, iTouch and iPad," writes NYTimes.com's Roy Furchgott.
