GigaOM's Katie Fehrenbacher looks at the impressive growth of municipal Wi-Fi in California -- thanks, she suggests, to the number of large urban areas in the state, the presence of Silicon Valley
, and "an interest in using wireless broadband to help education, business and basic communication."
Fehrenbacher's list of Cali Wi-Fi deployments ranges from Silicon Valley Metro Connect to the Long Beach Hotzone.
