CNET Asia's Doug Crets today looks at an interview with Comba CEO Tony Fok by The Standard's Steven Lee.
"We learn that Comba is interested in selling China telecoms on wimax technology because of the uncertainty surrounding the role 3G will play before or even after the Olympics," Crets writes. "Fok says that there is some doubt that 3G will be coming out this year, and he hopes to be able to sell 4G WiMax to mainland companies in the absence of the technology that is good for mobile video, a great asset during the Olympics."
"We have started research and development on WiMax, and I believe the business will be as huge as 3G in the mainland," Fok says.
