David Maynor Gets First Ever Pwnie Award for Most Overhyped Bug

At the BlackHat Conference in Vegas this week, the first-ever Pwnie Award for Most Overhyped Bug was given, oh-so-appropriately, to David Maynor for starting a media frenzy around his unsubstantiated claims of a wireless vulnerability in the Apple MacBook.

It's just a little public mockery - and it is, of course, all in good fun. As the Pwnie Awards web site notes, "The Pwnie Awards are an annual award ceremony celebrating the achivements and failures of security researchers and the security community... It is also supposed to be funny."
