Recent reports from ABI Research take a look at the fact that companies are finally releasing actual certified WiMax solutions -- while also noting that the rival 802.20 may get something of a resurgence thanks to Qualcomm's recent acquisition of Flarion.
802.20 competes directly with 802.16e (mobile WiMax).
"802.20 may get a new lease on life," says Philip Solis, ABI's Senior Analyst of Wireless Connectivity Research. "Qualcomm will almost certainly attempt to rally support from other industry participants."
