A group in Santa Fe, New Mexico is asking the city to ban Wi-Fi from public Wi-Fi, claiming their electrosensitivity causes symptoms including chest pains and headaches in response to Wi-Fi signals.

"The citizens claim that Wi-Fi networks in libraries and other civic buildings constitute discrimination as defined in the americans with disabilities Act," writes Crave's Michelle Thatcher. "The city attorney is looking into the matter and expects to make a legal recommendation by the end of the month."

"The anti-Wi-Fi contingent in Santa Fe is spearheaded by Arthur Firstenberg, a well-known activist whose previous credits include founding the Cellular Phone Task Force and authoring the book Microwaving Our Planet: The Environmental Impact of the Wireless Revolution," notes BetaNews' Jacqueline Emigh.
