Eye-Fi SD Cards Add Geotagging via Skyhook Wireless

Eye-Fi, Inc. today announced a new lineup of SD memory cards: the $129 2GB Eye-Fi Explore, which incorporates geotagging functionality from Skyhook Wireless; the $99 2GB Eye-Fi Share, designed for use at hotspots; and the $79 2GB Eye-Fi Home, designed for basic home use.
The Explore's geotagging functionality is a really cool (and logical) addition to Eye-Fi's offering. "Geotagging makes it easier to manage and search for your photos on your computer, and it also makes them more fun and relevant to share on the Web," says Skyhook CEO Ted Morgan. "Tagging has exploded on sites like Picasa Web Albums and Flickr, where users can share with each other where a picture was taken."
The company will demo the Eye-Fi Explore this week at the O'Reilly Where 2.0 Conference in Burlingame, California, and the new cards will be available in early June.
