FaithFone: Wireless-ness is Next to Godliness
Filed in archive Mobile by jeff goldman on September 29, 2006

International Business Times' Thomas Fredrickson reports today that new mobile phone company FaithFone Wireless has introduced a service that combines "faith and family content with mobile phone services."
The company appears to simply be a Liberty Wireless reseller -- the two Web sites are virtually identical.
"The FaithFone cellular/mobile phone service is tailored to help you live your life as a Christian," according to a company statement. "The mobile service provides simple and easy access to a variety of Christian content options, products and services directly through the cell phone."
If you don't want to switch carriers, you can buy a carrier-independent FaithPhone Wireless Media Card instead, which gives you access to SMS content including Daily Devotionals, Bible Passages, prayer
Of The Day, and Life Advice.
The company's favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 11:6 -- "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
Apparently, the right cell phone service can help you with that "earnestly seeking" part...
Ironic to be reporting on this the day after the closure of Mobile ESPN -- it'll be interesting to see whether the Christian user base has more stickiness than the NFL user base.
