Garmin GPS Phone Coming to T-Mobile
Filed in archive Mobile on April 21, 2010

You hear smartphones referred to as converged devices for the simple fact that manufacturers are managing to combine more and more features into single handsets. To that end, T-Mobile has unveiled its latest cell, the Garminfone, an Android-powered smartphone featuring Garmin's proprietary navigation software.
Garminfone provides voice and on-screen directions, traffic warnings with automatic re-routing, traffic warnings and even an application that helps users backtrack to their car. It represents the first Android-powered smartphone with preloaded maps of North America and a database of nearly 6 million points of interest.
The feature set is quite robust as well: A large 3.5-inch touch screen display, 3.0-megapixel auto-focus camera with geo-tagging capabilities, Web browser with high-speed 3G Internet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and a car mount optimized for automobile use.
Pricing has yet to be determined.
