Goodbye Forsee... Goodbye Xohm?

Much buzz online today about the impact of Gary Forsee's departure as CEO of sprint - with the suggestion that one possible result might be the end of Sprint's planned Xohm WiMax network...
"It looks like the Xohm project could be facing some uncertainty, now that Forsee, who has been greenlighting the venture, is getting the heave-ho," writes SFGate's Ryan Kim. "In fact, WiMax's multi-billion dollar price tag over the next three years could be part of the reason Forsee is leaving."
"Some financial and technology analysts said they believe that Xohm could be in trouble, although not immediately," agrees Computerworld's Matt Hamblen. "A new CEO could spin off the business unit or scale it back, they said. However, other analysts said that Sprint and its investors would be crazy not to capitalize on the huge investment the company already has in licensed 2.5-GHz spectrum to be used for the Xohm network."
Computerworld's David Haskin takes it one step further. "Does Gary Forsee's forced resignation as CEO of Sprint indicate the eventual end of the company?" he writes. "I believe the answer to that question could be yes if the board and shareholders have lost their nerve for the company's WiMax gamble."
