Hands On: Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel

IGN's Kathleen Sanders got her hands on an Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel, which will be released in November, packaged with a force-feedback version of Project Gotham Racing 3 for $149.99.

Unfortunately, Sanders doesn't get into too much detail, as she wasn't able to use the wheel with an actual game -- all she got to do was feel it in her hands and get a sense of its design. She liked the design quite a bit, though.

As Xboxic's Rossko UK points out, the fact that the wheel will be packaged with a 'force-feedback version of PGR3' seems to indicate that "original versions of the game may not be compatible with the wheel. Of course, I am merely speculating, and I could be completely wrong, but it seems strange for them to say this if the original PGR3 works fine."

Other things worth mentioning, Rossko notes, are "that the wheel has 270 degrees of rotationlinks, and the Forza Motosport team helped Microsoft with the product. Lastly, the wheel runs off of batteries you use in wireless pads, so AA batteries are all you need. Battery life is similar to wireless pads too, standing at 20 hours."
