There is bound to be a slew of new state laws in the future that make it illegal for you to drive while talking on a cell phone (unless you use a wireless bluetooth device). Connecticut, New Jersey and New York are already have laws requiring drivers to use a headset when talking on the phone. Similar laws will take effect in California and Washington on July 1 with other states soon to follow.

Here is the good news if you live in one of those states. Bluetooth sales are booming and many suppliers are offering deals or giving away products.

Headsets.com is promising a free cell phone headset to anyone in California or Washington who receives a ticket for using their phone while driving.

Plantronics has launched a marketing campaign around hands-free laws in California and Washington.
I can't remember but where there hands-free cigarettes available. Oh wait, the tobacco industry probably had enough money to get rid of any legislation that outlawed smoking while driving.
