Reuters today picks up on a Wall Street Journal report that the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has put the advanced wireless technology 802.20 (favored by Qualcomm as a competitor to WiMAX) on hold "due to a squabble involving Intel Corp."
"The institute's standards board last week disclosed that it had suspended activities of the so-called 802.20 working group, which reviews technologies that could provide faster high-speed Internet access than most cellphones," the article states.
