Tech Digest notes that the UK's MagicBox Products has announced a February 15 release date for its new Imp Wi-Fi Radio. While there are other Wi-Fi radios out there, Tech Digest says the Imp may help the market for these products grow exponentially.
The Imp provides access over your home Wi-Fi network to more than 2,500 free radio stations worldwide, as well as to MP3 files and BBC Radio archived programs. And it's an alarm clock.
The radio itself is reasonably affordable (about $250), and the price for content — free — is right. As Tech Digest suggests, this kind of device could be a pretty effective DAB killer.
