TMCnet's Prabhala Ranga Sai reports that Belgian wireless technology company Option has announced an agreement with Intel to "optimize WWAN modules for mobile internet devices (MIDs) based on Intel's low power technologies."
"The devices to be developed under this collaboration will be the world's smallest EDGE and HSPA WWAN modules," Sai writes. "MIDs are a new category of truly mobile consumer devices that deliver full Internet experience on the go and rely on wireless connectivity.
Under this collaboration, Option will deliver WWAN modules that meet the power, size and performance characteristics needed for Mobile Internet Devices in 2008."
