Introducing the LG-GD910 HSDPA Wrist Phone
LG Electronics this week announced plans to introduce its new LG-GD910 wrist phone at CES 2009.
"The wrist phone is expected to be available first in European and Korean markets, with no word on pricing or an official release date for the device," writes TECH.BLORGE's Emily Price.
"The WCDMA (wideband code division multiple access) phone supports the latest 7.2 Mbps HSDPA (high-speed downlink packet access) data system, so downloads should be fast," notes Network World's Martyn Williams. "It can also make video calls via a small camera above the top right corner of the screen. Other features include Bluetooth, an MP3 player, a speakerphone and a text-to-speech function. The handset is also waterproof."
"While there's no specific mention of it, we'd like to think the wrist watch phone will also tell time," advises Reg Hardware's Austin Modine. "That would be terrifically convenient."
