Introducing the Wi-Aquarium
Filed in archive Wi-Fi by jeff goldman on April 17, 2007

Engadget's Darren Murph today picks up on a Raw Feed report looking at the winners of the recent Lantronix Wireless Design Contest at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose, California -- particularly the third-place winner, the Wi-aquarium
, developed by Mohamad Abou El-Nasr, assistant professor at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology in Egypt.
The Internet-enabled fish tank, Murph writes, allows users to "login and keep an eye on the situation via webcam, and they can even dictate the water temperature, lights, and filter from afar. The standout feature, however, is the ingrained ability of the tank to send the owner emails containing status reports of several key metrics, which should certainly keep you connected to your sea-dwelling pets no matter your location."
More here from the OC Register ... and the press release is here.
