TECH.BLORGE.com's John Pospisil picks up on a Daily Telegraph story reporting that Professor Lawrie Challis of the UK's Mobile Telecommunications and Health Research Programme (MTHR) says children shouldn't put Wi-Fi notebooks on their laps.
This follows recent warnings from the UK's Professional Association of Teachers that in the future, we could find ourselves looking back on Wi-Fi as "the asbestos of the 21st century."
"Children are much more sensitive than adults to a number of other dangers, such as pollutants like lead and UV radiation, so if there should be a problem with mobiles, then it may be a bigger problem for children," Challis says. "Since we advise that children should be discouraged from using mobile phones, we should also discourage children from placing their laptop on their lap when they are using Wi-Fi."

Many people invest in internet security software to protect their laptop, but they do not consider protecting their health. The best place to look for cheap mobile phones is online which, of course, can't be done with an internet subscribtion. Minimise your chance of needing to make a personal injury claim while searching by keeping your laptop away from your skin.
