KT Announces WiBro Mobile WiMAX Community

UCLA's AsiaMedia News Daily picks up on a report in the Korea Herald that south korea
's KT Corp. this week launched what it calls a WiBro Mobile WiMAX Community, bringing 21 telecom operators together from 15 different countries to create a global WiBro "roaming belt" and to facilitate cooperation among member countries.
"A steering committee was organized within the community," the article states. "It will define related rules, coordinate working groups on the global roaming project, and devise successful business models for WiBro. Community members will hold regular meetings to strengthen cooperation."
"KT will strive for consumer benefits by making WiBro widely available in other parts of the world," says KT's Hong Won-pyo.
