Lenovo Intros ThinkPad T61p with Ultrawideband (UWB) Built In

Wi-Fi Networking News' Glenn Fleishman reports that Lenovo has announced a new laptop with ultrawideband (UWB) built in, the ThinkPad
T61p, starting at $1,814.
"This should be the first computer to hit the market where UWB is an integral part," Fleishman writes. "There aren't any peripherals out yet with UWB in them, of course, and the first devices will be Certified Wireless USB, most likely -- cable extenders rather than, say, a camera with UWB instead of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth."
But maybe Fleishman's being shortsighted -- according to Ars Technica, Lenovo's Tom Ribble says he "expects ultrawideband to help future-proof the laptop for people familiar with Bluetooth, by offering wireless support for ultrawideband peripherals like printers, hard drives and cell phones."
