Metro-Wardive: Nintendo DS Game Responds to Nearby Hotspots

Much buzz online this week about Metro-Wardive, a game for the Nintendo DS that uses the Wi-Fi hotspot activity around you to generate unique gaming environments.
"Metro-Wardive is a homebrew nintendo ds game
that generates levels based on the local Wi-Fi topography," explains Wired's Rob Beschizza. "Network hotspots become enemies, attacking your shielded craft in an abstract, Damocles-like
environment."
"The object of the game is to try to fend off the WLAN-generated enemies from overwhelming your wardrive crystal," writes QJ.NET's Charles D. "Through the use of your touch pen, you can blow up oncoming enemies that try to break through your crystal's barrier. The game is pretty unique each time you play it, since the amount and frequency of enemies depend on the how much data your DS collects around you."
"Really cool idea for a portable game that will never give you the same game board twice depending on your location," raves Make's Jonah Brucker-Cohen.
