A T3 article reports that while Red Octane is offering wireless guitar controllers for Guitar Hero II on the PS3, the Xbox 360 version is staying wired.
"Why?" the article asks. "Because Microsoft's keeping its precious wireless system all to itself. Even Sony, which is super-sensitive about protecting its property from others, uses Bluetooth for its wireless controls, but the 360's proprietary system means third party accessories are a distinct no-no."
In a brief interview with eToychest's Jason Dobson, Red Octane's Bryan
Lam said, "They aren't allowing 3rd party manufacturers to make anything at the moment... so until they allow us to do so, we aren't able to."
As the T3 article puts it, "Chalk this one up as a victory for the PS3."
