MMF Says Mobile Phones May Cause Insomnia

A recent study funded by the Mobile Manufacturers Forum (MMF) and conducted by researchers at Sweden's Karolinska Institute and Wayne State University in Detroit has found that cell phone radiation can cause insomnia.
According to USA Today's Michael Winter, the researchers found that mobile phone use may cause changes in the areas of the brain that are related to handling stress, and that "radio-frequency radiation may also disrupt production of melatonin."
"It may also cut our amount of deep sleep – interfering with the body's ability to refresh itself," notes BBC News.
"However, the research has drawn some criticism – reportedly even from within the Mobile Manufacturers Association itself – over the relatively small numbers of test subjects," writes Telecoms.com. "Only 71 men and women, aged between 18 and 45, were exposed to mobile phone radiation as they got into their beds to sleep for the research."
