MusicGremlin MG-1000: 'The iPod and Zune are Overrated'

SlashGear's Rue Liu today picks up on a review of the MusicGremlin MG-1000 MP3 player by SciFi Tech's Ken C. Pohlmann. "The verdict leans on the positive mainly because the Wi-Fi capabilities of the MG-1000 surpasses that of the Zune," Liu writes.
"For music socializing, MusicGremlin lets you share subscription music with other MG owners who are on the subscription service, either player-to-player or over the Web," SciFi Tech's Pohlmann writes. "Importing MP3 and WMA files from your PC requires WMP 10 and a USB cable (you can't use Wi-Fi for this, strangely)."
Ultimately, Pohlmann says, the MG-1000 doesn't match the iPod in design quality or the Zune in screen size, but its Wi-Fi is what makes it stand out. "As long as you're buying it and not ripping it, it's easier to pull music from the ether
rather than mess with your PC and a USB cable," he writes. "Either this player is surprisingly good, or the iPod and Zune are overrated."
