New Service Aims to Eliminate Waiting Rooms

We've all been there: Stomach growling, blood sugar dropping but the wait at the restaurant looks to be at least another half-hour and that report you watched on 20/20 the previous night has you feeling far too guilty to even consider bailing out for fast food. You got your cell phone on you right? Wouldn't it have been nice if the manager could have dropped you a text when your table was ready rather than make you stand in line?
Enter ReadyPing – a provider of wait list management and text message paging solutions. They have just exited beta with the launch of their new software that fundamentally shifts how restaurants and other key service-driven retailers manage customer wait times.
How does it do this? By enabling them to easily send text messages to alert customers as to precisely when or just before their product or service is available. In addition to restaurants, the company further developed its web-based software to meet the needs of other customer-centric industries, including: auto, dental, medical, hair and nail salons, hotel/resorts, spas and bowling alleys.
To sweeten the pot, ReadyPing also announced they are giving away a free Apple iPad with each two-year prepaid subscription to the service.
