T3's Mike Cooper reports from Tokyo, where he visited the headquarters of NTT DoCoMo to experience a prototype 4G phone, intended for release in... 2015.
The handset, which runs over a 1 Gbps connection, houses a pair of 3D goggles which provide data on surrounding locations -- and contains sensors that can detect precisely what you're looking at. "If I hit a button while looking at something, it pulls up a hub of information on [it]," Cooper writes. "It's a lot to take in, but definitely a world I want to be a part of."
"The point is that 4G promises to deliver so much content into our handsets and lives at such ridiculously blink-quick speeds that it creates a new way of looking at the world," Cooper writes. "Only nine years and counting..."
