Palm at CES - Treo 750 Reviewed; SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS

InformationWeek's Elena Malykhina looks at Palm's launch of the Treo 750 at CES. "It's the first Windows Mobile 5.0-powered smartphone to become available from Cingular and the first Treo to use Cingular's 3G network," she writes.

CNET's Bonnie Cha already has a review of the 750, and it ain't good. The downside? "The Treo 750 will not support Cingular's HSPDA network at launch and doesn't have integrated Wi-Fi," she writes. "It also has a low-resolution screen and failed to meet the rated battery talk time."

Ultimately, Cha says, "The palm treo 750 includes some nice enhancements and offers good usability, but you can get more for your money with the Cingular 8525."

Palm's press release is here.

Also today, Palm and Sling Media announced SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS, expected Q1 2007, which will allow users to watch and control their home TVs via their Palm 700 or 750 devices -- Sling Media's press release is here.
