Paxar Introduces RFID-Enabled Smart Mirror
Filed in archive RFID by jeff goldman on May 8, 2007

Smarthouse's Manisha Kanetkar reports that Paxar Corporation is introducing the magicmirror, a dressing room mirror that uses RFID technology to recommend garments to shoppers, this week at Material World in Miami.
"When a customer brings an item of clothing with a radio frequency identification tag in front of the magicmirror, it automatically displays information including brand messaging, garment description, size and colour availability, as well as mix-and match guides for accessorising," Kanetkar writes. "If installed in a fitting room, customers can request assistance from a salesperson by touching the magicmirror, without having to leave the room."
"Consumers are becoming increasingly savvy -- they're accustomed to using technology in their daily lives, especially when shopping for items," says Paxar's Chris Robins. "To communicate with them in their digital language and engage them, the industry must find relevant, innovative technology that helps tell a brand story better. The magicmirror solution does that."
