Wi-Fi

PSFK today links to a great post at PingMag which looks at the "top five Wi-Fi toys in Japan" -- focus on the word "toy." Most of them are round, and most of them are extremely cute...
There's the Nabaztag Wi-Fi Bunny, which can actually be kinda scary...
There's the Chumby multifunction Wi-Fi device...
There's the oh-so-useless Ambient Orb...
There's NEC's relatively basic R100 prototype robot...
...and there's the even more basic PhotoVu Wi-Fi picture frame.
They're largely pointless, and kind of strange... but they do serve as a very interesting exploration of what Wi-Fi can offer in the home when you look beyond basic computing and multimedia functionality.
