Printing and Scanning over Wireless

Filed in archive Wi-Fi by jeff goldman on January 12, 2006

From Paul Ferrill at Networking for Pros, more news from CES 2006 -- great news for me, as a user of a wireless print server who would love to be able to scan wirelessly as well:

One of the problems with trying to attach a multi-function USB printer using a wireless adapter is you lose some of the functionality.

Take for instance the hewlett packardlinks HP Photosmart 2610 printer, scanner and memory card reader. You could use something like the Netgear WGPS606 to connect it to your wireless network, but you won't be able to scan or use the memory card reader.

Silex has just introduced their sx2000WG product, which takes care of the problem. Now you can have your printer and scanner too!
