UsingRFID.com reports that US-based RFID developer RFID, LTD. has unveiled its SurvivalTag, an RFID tag to be embedded in the uniforms of firefighters, police officers and emergency medical service providers.
"When it comes to protecting emergency personnel, a device like SurvivalTag is long overdue," says company president Nicholas Chavez. "But the RFID component is just one piece of the complete SurvivalTag System, which has been heavily influenced by fire commanders who want not only to monitor locations of their squads but also their heart rates, respiratory developments, and skin temperatures."
RFID, LTD.'s press release (dated December 20) is here.
