RFID Paranoia: Tags, Sneakers and Tires, Oh My!

More RFID paranoia courtesy of Engadget's Paul Miller, who picks up on a Techdirt article by Carlo Longino that follows security blogger Bruce Schneier from his paranoia about tracking Nike+iPod joggers to his panic about RFID tire pressure monitors...
"Burdening manufacturers with unnecessary regulations and mandating security that adds complexity and cost when it's not necessary will do very little to actually improve security when it does matter," Longino writes.
Still, as Miller points out, "in all seriousness, would it really hurt to put a bit more encryption on these things?" While Schneier may be erring on the side of paranoia, I'm glad he's doing it.
