Samsung Captivate Coming to AT&T
Filed in archive Mobile on June 18, 2010

AT&T has confirmed rumors of a new Android-powered handset coming soon. The Samsung Captivate, an all-new Android-powered smartphone with a brighter "super" touch screen, is set to street later this summer.
The carrier said the Captivate will boast a large 4.0-inch touch display that uses advanced screen technology, called "Super AMOLED," which offers 20 percent brighter imaging at 20 percent reduced power consumption. In addition, it is expected to reflect 80 percent less when used in direct sunlight.
The phone will also come with a 1-gigahertz Hummingbird processor and run on Google's latest Android 2.1 operating system. It features an application called "Social Hub," which grabs information from social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter and shows it in one convenient view.
There's also an integrated 5.0-megapixel camera that captures high-definition video, Bluetooth 3.0 technology and high-speed 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Pricing on the Captivate has yet to be finalized.
