LTB Audio Systems today announced its new wireless audio device called the Q-Bean.
"This orb-like device is about the size of typical automobile key fob, and it offers everything from Digital CD-Quality audio to a built-in microphone for speech and remote tracking features for Windows users," according to a company announcement.
The Q-Bean will, of course, come in "several cool colors," and will come with a plug & play transmitter that works with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems, including Windows Vista. It'll also work with MP3 players like the iPod and Zune.
Okay, but what does it do? "The built-in microphone enables a user to take advantage of VoIP, speech recognition and speech-to-text features," the company states. "The dedicated wireless technology uses a unique adaptive frequency system that virtually avoids conflicts with cordless phones, Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi routers
and even microwave ovens."
But wait, there's more! "The convenient and colorful Q-Bean offers a sleek and trendy new format for digital wireless audio streaming," the company adds. "The product will include a color coordinated adjustable lanyard to wear around your neck, or you can clip it to a pocket in Star Trek style! The included ear buds are high performance in-ear variety. The Q-Bean will be offered with at least five unique colors to suite every taste."
It's all about the colors, apparently... the ARIO 2.0 and 2.1 Q-Bean models were recently on display at CES 2007 in Las Vegas, and are expected to be available online by the end of the year.
