According to ZDNet Asia's Aaron Tan, a second person in Singapore (following Garyl Tan Jia Luo last month) has been prosecuted for illegal Wi-Fi access.
"According to local media reports, Lin Zhenghuang, 21, is accused of using the wireless connection to post a bomb threat message in July 2005 on Hardwarezone.com, a Singapore technology enthusiast Web site," Tan writes.
Lin faces up to seven years in jail and fines of up to US$32,575.
"The message was posted in the wake of the London subway and bus bombings," Tan writes. "Some alarmed visitors of the Web site had reportedly alerted local police
. The police were able to identify the owner of the compromised Wi-Fi network and seized her computer. However, they later ascertained that she was not the author of the bomb hoax."
