With Sony planning a PR event for August 25th, Silicon Alley Insider's Dan Frommer suggests the event is likely to be a launch for the company's new wireless e-reader.
"Perhaps we'll also hear more about Sony's e-book platform plans, including - perhaps - software for wireless phones, like Apple's iPhone," Frommer writes. "As Sony's rivals - Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc. - all have iPhone apps, it makes sense that Sony would want to keep feature sets equal."
"With the recently announced PRS-300 and PRS-600 at $199 and $299 respectively, a wireless model would at least cost $350-399... is adding a premium, wireless high-priced model the right choice?" asks Sony Insider's Christopher MacManus.
