nokia this week announced that Daniel R. Hesse (who recently became president and CEO of Sprint) has decided to resign from Nokia's Board of Directors, of which he's been a member since 2005.

"Dan Hesse has a long and impressive career in the telecommunications industry and this latest step is a great continuation on that path," says Nokia chairman Jorma Ollila. "Dan has made an important contribution to the Nokia Board and we will miss his input to the Board work."
