DragonWave today announced that its Horizon Compact and Horizon Duo products have been selected by Sprint for use in its Xohm WiMax network.
"Sprint said it would deploy the radios in Chicago, Baltimore and Washington, the three networks targeted for commercial launch this year," notes Telephony Online's Kevin Fitchard.
"DragonWave claims to have won most of the backhaul contracts for the world's WiMax networks," writes Unstrung's Dan Jones. "The firm already works with Clearwire LLC on its pre-WiMax deployment. What is not clear yet, however, is how or whether the backhaul vendor will be involved with the 'new' Clearwire venture. DragonWave wouldn't comment on that."
