Slippery Brick's Darrin Olson reports that StarTech has released its new $75 Wi-Fi Detective, a 3.58 inch long Wi-Fi detector with an LED display and a USB connection.
"Devices like these are great when you're in a downtown area or at an airport looking for an Internet connection," Olson writes. "The device is able to detect Wi-Fi networks and display information such as the signal strength, SSID, the type of network (b or g), whether it's an infrastructure or adhoc mode, the channel and how many access points are being picked up."
The Wi-Fi Detective's USB connection allows it to serve as a WLAN adapter for your laptop, and the device's battery can also be charged via USB.
